⭐ Tours in and around Almería, compared in one place

Tapas, Food and Wine Tours in Almería

The food side of the stock is small and specific: tapas tours in the city, wine tastings at an organic winery and in the Almería Alpujarra, and olive oil tours with tastings around Cuevas del Almanzora and Pulpí in the north-east of the province.

Good to know: Most of these run in small groups and at set times, so book early and check the language of the guide and the meeting point. The wine and olive oil visits are outside the city and usually need a car or an arranged pickup, which is worth confirming before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Cabo de Gata from Almería?

The natural park starts roughly 30 to 40 minutes by road from the city. San José, the main base, is at the lower end of that range; check each tour’s meeting point.

Can I drive to Mónsul and Los Genoveses in summer?

Not freely. From June to September car access to the beaches between Los Genoveses and Cala Carbón is restricted, with a paid car park and a shuttle from San José. Check the current rules before you go.

How far is the Tabernas Desert?

About 30 km north of Almería city. Some tours leave from the city, others start in the desert itself, so read the meeting point before booking.

Does Almería have beaches?

Yes, the city has its own, such as San Miguel and Zapillo, within reach of the centre. The famous coves and volcanic bays are in the Cabo de Gata park, not in the city.

Are there Alhambra tours from Almería?

Not in our listings. Granada is roughly 160 km away, a drive of about one and a half to two hours, and has its own page on a sister site.

Do I really get a free tapa with a drink?

In many Almería bars a drink comes with a tapa, and you often choose it. Choice and portion size vary from bar to bar, so treat it as a local custom, not a guaranteed meal.
