Fort Bravo or Mini Hollywood Oasys: Which Western Town Should You Visit?

Updated October 20, 2026 · 5 min read

Crowds gathered in the sandy main street of a Western film town, with a saloon and a fire department building

Tabernas has three surviving Western towns built as film sets and now open to visitors: Fort Bravo, Mini Hollywood Oasys and Western Leone. GetYourGuide sells tickets for the first two. They are close in idea and different in size, so the choice is a practical one.

The ratings are identical at 4.5. The review counts are not: Oasys has about seven times as many. That tells you which is more popular, and nothing about which is better.

Fort Bravo: shorter, cheaper, closer to a film set

According to the listing, the ticket covers film studios, horse-carriage rides, Western shows in the saloon and outdoors, horses and a swimming pool. We could not verify opening or show times, so check them for the day you go.

We would plan half a day here. The ticket is €7.10 cheaper than Oasys. If your main interest is the look of an old Western street and a show or two, this is enough.

Oasys: bigger, more like a day out

According to the listing, Oasys is a Western theme park with live shows, a zoo, pools and bars. The ticket page offers an optional buffet. A separate full-day version costs €85 for 8 hours.

This is the park for children. A zoo and pools give a family something to do once the shows are over. We could not verify opening hours, seasons or show times, so check the schedule for the day you want to come and, above all, whether the pool is open.

What about Western Leone?

The third town, Western Leone, is not sold on GetYourGuide, so there is nothing to compare here. If you specifically want the Leone connection, the Tabernas 4x4 tour of Western filming sites is the closest we have to it.

Getting there

Both parks are in the desert, not in a town, and an entry ticket is only a ticket: it is not a transfer. Work out the journey before you buy. If you have no car, a guided tour that includes the transport is the simpler option; if you want to combine a Western town with the desert and a late lunch in your own time, comparing rental cars for Almería is worth five minutes.

Which one

  • Families, or a full day out: Oasys.
  • Film fans on half a day, or a smaller budget: Fort Bravo.
  • Heat: these are open-air sets in a desert. In summer, go early.

If you would rather see the desert than a set, the comparison of 4x4, horse riding and Western towns covers the options, and the Tabernas Desert tours page lists eight offers from €22.90.
